Auto Insurance? I recently bought a car and I have no idea what auto insurance is good and has great deals. Can anyone help me? Keep in mind I'm on a budget. Does anyone know what is a good company for me?
Can the auto insurance company pay me directly for my medical expenses or do they have to pay the doctor? I was in an auto accident and I have medical insurance. My medical insurance covered my medical expenses; however, I wanted to know if the auto insurance is still liable for those expenses? It seems as if my having medical insurance should benefit me and not the liable party's auto insurance company. If I did not have medical insurance the auto insurance company would still have to pay for those expenses. So shouldn't they still have to pay for those expenses and I get what ever is left that my medical insurance company did not pay? Are there any laws statures that back this up in Georgia? I am trying to settle this claim without getting an attorney and I need all the help I can get. Any advice would be helpful. I am in the process of writing a demand letter. Thanks for all the help.
How much does your auto insurance go up after you get a traffic citation? After driving for nearly 14 years without an accident or traffic ticket, I end up getting two traffic tickets this summer. I was able to get one dismissed by going to traffic school, but the other one stays on my record for the next few years. My insurance agent told me that my rates will go up $600 per year for the next 3 years because of the ticket. Seeing that I pay about $1,400 each year for auto insurance (I bought a new car last year), the idea that my rates would jump over 40% because of one traffic citation seems a bit ridiculous. If any of you have had your insurance rates increase because of a single traffic ticket, how much has your insurance increased? By the way... If you answer, please say which state you live in. I live in California, so my rates are higher than most of the country. Thanks!
How does auto insurance work when you "loan" your car to another? I have been thinking of "loaning" my car (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a vehicle for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let's say 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the car returns to me. Can he purchase auto insurance on himself and the car or does it fall upon me and my policy? My father has an excellent driving record and so do I.
Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? ok it was canceled 5 months ago I wasn't using the car so I didn't need insurance at a moment. Now I am planning on using the car again. Can I just call them and ask them to send me a monthly fee and get insurance resumed or do I need to go to insurance place and talk to Insurance sales agent and pay $200 finders fee again? I don't want to pay those fees again. Is there a way to resume my insurance without those extra fees. I am a California resident.
How do I know if my auto insurance company is frauding my? My auto insurance company has been charging me fees, rate increases (originally I was told it would be a decrease!), and a whole other mess with the DMV. I have not had any tickets, accidents, or claims. No one has been able to satisfactorily explain to me why this is happening. How do I now if I have a case with the insurance commission/and or a small claims lawsuit? My main problem is not the rate increase. The insurance company received my payment on time. But, they did not POST it until a few days later. sometime in this period of a few days, the DMV audited the insurance companies system and decided this was a lapse I guess. I had to give the DMV 500.00 or lose my registration. This was 6 months ago. It took us 4 months to get the insurance agent to tell us what really happend (they are good at the runaround game). They said that they had sent the paperwork to the DMV and that we should be getting our check in 30 days as the insurance compay was at fault. This month my insurace is 100.00 more and I called the DMV and they recieved the paperwork, but not a follow up call they were supposed to get. Since I called them, I personally was able to give the OK to send the packet to the refund department. My insurance company says that the extra 100.00 is for "reinstatement of coverage", coverage I never lost in the first place.
Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period? Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period? I need to get auto insurance for my vehicle just so I can get a movers permit for one day. The problem is that I don't want 6 months of insurance nor do I need the car to be insured for more then a day so I can just have it transported. Is there anyway to a days worth of auto insurance?
What would lawyer costs for an auto insurance company be? I'm trying to work out a settlement with the auto-insurance company over an injury that happened last December. They're offering $3,500, but we want $5,000. I was wondering how much it would cost them in legal fees, and lawyer costs if we were to bring this to court. It could help in our bartering if we know they'll be saving money just settling. Thanks.
What are some inexpensive, yet reliable auto insurance companies? I need a new auto insurance company, Allstate just raised my rates through the roof. But I don't want it to be an unreliable company that will drop me for one little crack in my winshield. State Farm and all those companies are too expensive for me (I am a teenager and work part-time). I live in CA. Any suggestions?
How do I make an auto insurance claim for scratches through auto owners? I bought a used car a few months ago that had a near flawless finish. Over the past few months it's been scratched several times by my nephew on his bike. We've talked and now I need to file a claim with my insurance. The marks are everywhere, back of the trunk, right rear quarter panel, hood, left rear quarter panel. The problem is, before I knew I could claim damages, I used a touch up kit to cover the scratches and gouges so they are hard to see. But I could still take pictures of them as they stand now and probably get a letter from the salesman, proclaiming the condition that he told it to me in. What else do I need to file a claim with Auto Owners? Yes, I have full coverage, including comprehensive.
When Changing auto insurance company, do they ask me to go through inspection on my vehicle? I'm thinking about changing my auto insurance company soon. I'll probably go to online to get a quote and the insurance. When I looked through all the questions they ask for the quote, I noticed that they ask if there are any damages on the vehicles. (There are few scratches here and there on my vehicle.) If I answer that there are, they would ask me how did it get them and tell me that I should report those accidents. But I don't want to report and I don't even want to fix them. Therefore, I know it's an immoral act but I want to answer that there aren't any damages. So here comes my question, After the applications and all, do the insurance company ask the driver to go through the auto inspection?
Which auto insurance companies will not cancel policy/raise rates if there is an accident? I am comparing prices for car insurance. I have had State Farm forever. After talking to them and asking them what I should look for when shopping for car insurance is a policy that wont cancel you or raise rates if you have an accident. We have made claims in the past (storm damage and I hit a tree stump - no actual vehicle to vehicle accidents) and our rates have not gone up. Do other companies do the same? What about Traveler's Auto Insurance?
In what ways does buying a car affect auto insurance premiums? I'm looking at buying or leasing a new car and am wondering how that'll affect my auto insurance premium. Also, which features in a new car affect the premium. I've heard about red paint and sports cars causing higher premiums, but are there any other factors?
Is it necessary to hold on to old auto insurance bills? I switched auto insurance companies recently and I was just wondering if there is any reason at all I should keep my old auto insurance bills from the old company. I'm the one who HATES clutter and I want to get rid of things I don't need anymore. Thanks.
How much do you pay for auto insurance? I just spent a few hours getting an auto insurance quote from a number of companies. I got a real good rate ($573 for a whole year) for our 2004 car and all the extras. I think this is a pretty good rate but wonder if others are paying more or less. How much are you paying?
Auto insurance company that wants me to pay upfront? I need general information concerning auto insurance complanies that pay claims directly to the driver. They want me to absorb all costs (repairs, rental, etc.) and then they will issue me a "reimbursement" check. I don't want reimbursed for something that their insured driver did to me! I just want them to cover all costs associated with the claim! What, if any, legal action can I take to have the matter proceed in my favor?
What homeowners and auto insurance do you recommend? I am shopping for homeowner's and Auto insurance. Progressive is the cheapest, and I like the fact that they cover pets that are riding in your car too. I am looking at them as well as Ameriprise, and Amica. Allstate and Nationwide seemed high, State Farm and Gieco will not give me Earthquake coverage which is a must. Thank you. Foamy
