How do I bill private insurance companies?
I want to start a medical mail order business, do I need to contact each private insurance companies individually and get approval to bill them for products or can I just go through a billing service and bill them right from the start.

- Just because you bill someone, doesn't mean they're going to pay! If you want to be quasi-sure of being paid, you'll have to contact them, then get the correct billing forms (you'll likely have to buy them), then offer the correct information, and if the product is APPROVED by the utilization committee as being both medically necessary, and something covered by a policy, they'll pay for it. Sometimes they'll pay the policyholder, and you'll have to actually collect the money from the policyholder.
